AMD Ryzen7 3700X and Ryzen 9 3900X launched

Well isn’t this A great launch by AMD’s marketing team. Launching their 7nm processors on the 7 Th of the 7th month of this Year(7th July). Looks like the team red is trying to get a hattrick of the lucky 7’s. And rightly so.

Intel has lost about 22% market share in the Japanese market. And the trend will continue through the new Ryzen Zen2 CPU launches. The AMD CPU’s that was initially unveiled at the Computex 2019 have now been launched for retail and Intel is running to find shelter.

Main features:

  1. Ryzen 9 3900X first consumer market Cpu with 12 cores and 24 threads at price comparable to Intel i9 9900K.
  2. Ryzen 7 3700X, the modest 8 core/16threads Cpu is lower by almost 200$ in price while outperforming the Intel Flagship Processor with ease.
  3. The new X570 motherboards are also available from today onwards

The Ryzen 9 3900X is the first 12 core and 24 thread CPU launched for the general consumer market.

It boasts of a base clock of 3.6GHz and a boost clock of 4.6 GHz on all core loads. It has a 6MB of L2 cache, 64 MB of L3 cache and a TDP of 105W (ouch!). AMD has tried to keep its newer Zen processors backwards compatible with older AM4 socket Motherboards, but we digress and advise you to go for the New X570 motherboards that have been launched, by Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, ASRock etc, especially for these new processors huge Power hunger(which might make your Old motherboards a toasty griller).

The other models include the 8 core/16 thread Ryzen 7 3800x and 3700X (for around Rs 29K and Rs 25K respectively ) and the 6 core/12 thread Ryzen 5 3600X and Ryzen 3600 (for around Rs 17K and Rs 15K respectively). Some of the other models for the entry-level gamers and casual users are the Ryzen 5 3400G and 3200G APU’s, which are implemented on the older ZEN+ model, and also have the integrated Radeon Vega Graphics.

AMD is boosting of single core performance equaling the top end Intel CPU the i9 9900K. And easily outperforming it in the Multi-Threaded applications. Considering the prices of these new Zen 2 CPU’s, that are almost 2/3rd. If not half the price of its competing Intel counterpart, It seems that the AMD has definitely turned the tables on its head.

And looking into the Intel road map, we don’t think that Team blue has an ace up. Its sleeves or even a penny to the thought of beating AMD anytime sooner in the CPU market. And if you are in the market for a new processor, AMD is definitely a better option than Intel.
